Outer Hebrides The Timeless Way
The Outer Hebrides The Timeless Way describes a 230 mile journey through the islands from the Butt of Lewis in the north to Vatersay in the south using, as far as possible, old tracks and ways. The walk takes you through through this remote and beautiful archipelago. These are islands where the soft green sward of the machair is dotted with wild flowers and the moutains are inspiring mountains.
On the way to Vatersay you will walk through the islands of Lewis, Harris, Berneray, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist, Eriskay and Barra. You will experience a live Gaelic culture, see many artificats of its Celtic heritage, come into contact with the crofting economy, see an unique natural environment and see vast expenses of empty golden beaches.
Experience this unique view of the islands which is based on nearly 40 years the islands, detailed historical research and extensive fieldwork.
